![]() | When Life Is Changed ForeverAuthor: Rick TaylorBinding: Paperback List price: $10.99 USD Amazon price: $8.79 USD |
Reviewer: A reader
I really appreciate Rick's transparency and the way he deals with this difficult topic. In walking us through how he and Judy have processed their grief, he provides a roadmap for wrestling through the many issues at hand in a God-honoring way (Eph. 4:26). I have also found the tapes of the interviews Rick and Judy did with Dennis Rainey on FamilyLife Today to be extremely helpful. I highly recommend this book for anyone struggling and asking "Why?" following the death of a loved one.

Reviewer: Steven A. Slauson (Wake Forest, North Carolina)
I've been on both sides of the fence concerning integration (Psychology and Christianity), and I've always believed that the two could coexist; however, I was wrong despite my sincerity. Psychobabble: The Failure of Modern Psychology and the Biblical Alternative opened my eyes. Richard Ganz shows his readers that Psychology and Christianity cannot be united. Throughout this book Ganz shares insights from his own personal journey, and encourages his readers to take a bold stance for Christ. This is a book that confronts modern psychotherapy with the Word of God.

Book Description
We tend to think of brokenness as being sad and gloomy and downcast, never smiling, never laughing or as being morbidly introspective, always trying to dig up some new sin to confess. Some have the image of brokenness as a sort of false humility, where were continually putting ourselves down. Nancy Leigh DeMoss tells us that Gods idea of brokenness is not a feeling, it is not an emotion -- it is a choice we make. When we have humbled ourselves before the Lord in brokenness, then He will lift us up.
![]() | Pleasures Evermore: The Life-Changing Power of Enjoying GodAuthor: Sam StormsBinding: Paperback List price: $15.00 USD Amazon price: $10.20 USD |
Book Description
In this compelling and highly readable book, Sam Storms presents a fresh and liberating perspective on why a relationship with God is not only possible but irresistibly pleasurable. This "Christian Hedonism" seems contradictory, but Storms explains that a life devoted to God should also be a life devoted to the pleasure of reveling in Him and all He has done. Pleasures Evermore offers real solutions for hard-to-change areas of life and challenges the assumption that holiness comes through following a list of rules. Perfect for the person of any denomination who's struggling to find lasting joy in the seeming drudgery of daily obedience.
![]() | The Exemplary Husband : A Biblical PerspectiveAuthor: Stuart ScottBinding: Hardcover List price: $21.95 USD |
Reviewer: Jim Dowhaniuk (Vancouver, WA United States)
I just finished reading "The Exemplary Husband". I cannot thank Dr. Stuart Scott enough for this book. It is so thorough. I will read it again and again. The book has so much in it that it should be read slowly to really absorb and capture the Biblical perspective for the husband. Dr. Scott's extensive use of Bible exerpts is the core of why this book works! Finally, I am beginning to understand the the true role of the husband. My wife and I are Catholic and I used to have pretty much an "I'm the boss" attitude or "you should listen to me because I am the husband".

Holiness. The Christian's joint venture with God.
"Be holy, for I am holy," commands God to His people. But holiness is something that is often missed in the Christian's daily life. In The Pursuit of Holiness, he helps us see clearly just what we should rely on God to do-and what we should accept responsibility for ourselves.
Whether you're continuing your pursuit of holiness or just beginning, the principles and guidelines in The Pursuit of Holiness will challenge you to obey God's command of holiness.
