![]() | Simply Jesus: Experiencing the One Your Heart Longs For (LifeChange Books)Author: Joseph M. StowellBinding: Hardcover List price: $9.99 USD Amazon price: $9.99 USD |
Book Description
Simply Jesus. What would it mean to fix our attention fully on the Person of Christ? To approach Him apart from systems, formulas, religion, and well-meaning Christian culture? To see Jesus Himself? And how would that change us? Moody Bible College President Joseph Stowell ponders these probing questions -- showing through dramatic stories and surprising insights how believers can experience significant life-change as they encounter Christ -- our model of understanding, love, and courage, today. Simply Jesus identifies experiences that can awaken the realization of our basic need to focus on Him ... like temptation, trouble, and surrender. A book intended for both spiritual seekers and Christians who are ready for a fresh, personal encounter with the Savior their heart searches for.
![]() | Jack: A Life of C. S. LewisAuthor: George SayerBinding: Paperback List price: $19.99 USD Amazon price: $13.59 USD |
Reviewer: Jeffrey A. Thompson (Iowa City, IA USA)
At one time I had read most of the biographies out there on C. S. Lewis. This one is by far the best. Sayer had a long friendship with Lewis and tells what he knows about Lewis and does not theorize about what he does not know. The reader feels the warmth and respect Sayer has for Lewis and also the puzzlement one has with close friends whose strange behaviors in the past are not fully explained.
Sayer addresses the C. S. Lewis's friendship with Tolkien, Dyson and other Inklings. Sayer does a good job of relating Lewis's conversion to Christianity. Sayer explains the arguments and personal struggles that surrounded the conversion. Sayer writes about Joy and Mrs. Moore, which gives a more fuller and more generous picture of both women than some other biographies. Sayer has the background for literary criticism and writes about Lewis's poetry, the Chronicles of Narnia and most of his other writings.

![]() | What's the Difference?: Manhood and Womanhood Defined According to the BibleAuthor: John PiperBinding: Paperback List price: $8.99 USD Amazon price: $8.99 USD |
Reviewer: Brian G Hedges (Niles, Michigan)
John Piper delivers a carefully studied Biblical portrait of what it means to be a man or a woman. The principles are based on sound Biblical exegesis, but without a lot of technicality and detail. The chapters dealing with "The Meaning of Masculinity" and "The Meaning of Femininity" are dealt with by the use of carefully constructed definitions that are unfolded word-by-word. Extensive space is given to describing the masculine role of leadership. Piper's approach is Scriptural, and therefore relevant; and he labors hard to bridge any apparant gaps between the Biblical model and its contemporary relevance.
![]() | Strengthening Your MarriageAuthor: Wayne A. MackBinding: Paperback List price: $11.99 USD Amazon price: $9.59 USD |
Reviewer: MarkFairbrother (Clarksville, TN)
Wayne Mack wrote this book 19 years ago and it continues to be the best and most practical and effective for couples seeking long term biblical change. This is an explicitly Christian resource. It is understandable and down to earth. It is also only for the stout of heart who are ready to look hard at themselves and who want God's help to change in the setting of their marriages.
![]() | Persecution: How Liberals Are Waging War Against ChristianityAuthor: David LimbaughBinding: Paperback List price: $13.95 USD Amazon price: $11.86 USD |
Book Description
In this New York Times bestseller, David Limbaugh exposes the liberal hypocrisy of promoting political correctness while discriminating against Christianity. From the elimination of school prayer to the eradication of the story of Christianity in America from history text-books, this persuasive book shows that our social engineers inculcate hostility toward Christianity and its values in the name of "diversity," "tolerance," and "multiculturalism."
Limbaugh explains through court cases, case studies, and true stories the widespread assault on the religious liberties of Christians in America today and urges Christians to fight back to restore their First Amendment right of religious freedom.
![]() | Operation World (Updated and Revised Edition): 21st Century Edition (Operation World)Author: Patrick JohnstoneBinding: Paperback List price: $19.99 USD Amazon price: $13.59 USD |
Reviewer: A.Trendl HungarianBookstore.com "Read your favorite book again. You'll feel better." (Glen Ellyn, IL USA)
"Operation World" is a solid educational and prayer tool for Christians concerned about world evangelism and world welfare.
Each day of the year gets a country (or portion of a country in a few cases).
Johnstone describes the land geographically, but then describes the people groups, their percentages of the whole population, political circumstances, etc. He also gives demographics regarding denominations and religions.
Important to mention is how "OW" is sure to not let one agency or denomination overwhelm it. It isn't a 'pentecostal' or 'conservative' book, but Johnstone informs the reader in a balanced way how the Conservative Baptists and the Assembly of God, and all the rest are fulfulling the Great Commission.
![]() | The God Who HearsAuthor: W. Bingham HunterBinding: Paperback List price: $16.00 USD Amazon price: $12.48 USD |
Reviewer: Greg Lawhorn
I read Dr. Hunter's book during my first year as a student at Talbot seminary. His insights into the nature of prayer, and how we go about praying, were a powerful influence in my own relationship with Jesus Christ. I strongly suggest this book.
![]() | Disciplines of a Godly ManAuthor: R. Kent HughesBinding: Hardcover List price: $19.99 USD Amazon price: $13.59 USD |
Reviewer: Daniel Darling "book hawk" (Ingleside, IL)
R. Kent Hughes hits the nail on the head. The world in general and the church in particular is suffering from a lack of godly leadership. When pastors and longtime church leaders are falling into sin on a daily basis, Christians need a wake-up call to spiritual living. And it's the men who must take the lead.
This book is ten years old, but it has never been more relevant. Mixing biblical exposition with practical application, Hughes gives men a prescription for righteous living.
As hard as it is to take, this veteran pastor speaks to men on their terms. Carefully organized, The Disciplines of a Godly Man, goes through each phase of a man's life. It delivers Scriptural guidelines on issues like lust, pride, responsibility, and marriage.

Book Description
All worldviews, including atheism, require faith. I Don%u2019t Have Enough Faith to Be an Atheist argues that Christianity requires the least faith of all because it is the most reasonable. The authors lay out the evidence for truth, God, and the Bible in logical order and in a readable, non-technical, engaging style. ![]() | PsychoBabble: The Failure of Modern Psychology--and the Biblical AlternativeAuthor: Richard GanzBinding: Paperback List price: $15.99 USD Amazon price: $10.87 USD |
Reviewer: Steven A. Slauson (Wake Forest, North Carolina)
I've been on both sides of the fence concerning integration (Psychology and Christianity), and I've always believed that the two could coexist; however, I was wrong despite my sincerity. Psychobabble: The Failure of Modern Psychology and the Biblical Alternative opened my eyes. Richard Ganz shows his readers that Psychology and Christianity cannot be united. Throughout this book Ganz shares insights from his own personal journey, and encourages his readers to take a bold stance for Christ. This is a book that confronts modern psychotherapy with the Word of God.

Book Description
SPEAK NOW OR FOREVER HOLD YOUR PEACE For the past forty years, the homosexual activist movement has sought to implement a master plan to utterly destroy the family. Unelectable and unaccountable rogue judges have made a habit of inventing rights that not only don't exist in the Constitution, but also contradict both the will of the people and the actions of the legislative branch. Christians around the world have scrambled, wondering how to respond. How do we discuss this intelligently? What can we do to make our voices heard? In his newest release, Marriage Under Fire, Dr. Dobson addresses the dire ramifications of judicial activism and presents compelling arguments against the legalization of homosexual unions - mobilizing the Christian community to respond to a call to action.

Book Description
We tend to think of brokenness as being sad and gloomy and downcast, never smiling, never laughing or as being morbidly introspective, always trying to dig up some new sin to confess. Some have the image of brokenness as a sort of false humility, where were continually putting ourselves down. Nancy Leigh DeMoss tells us that Gods idea of brokenness is not a feeling, it is not an emotion -- it is a choice we make. When we have humbled ourselves before the Lord in brokenness, then He will lift us up.
![]() | Letters Along the Way: A Novel of the Christian LifeAuthor: D. A. Carson,John D. WoodbridgeBinding: Paperback List price: $17.99 USD Amazon price: $17.99 USD |
Reviewer: Parableman (Syracuse, New York USA) - See all my reviews
Carson and Woodbridge have done an excellent job telling the story of a man's life from a conversion to Christianity in college until he is mature and serving as a Presbyterian minister later in life. The struggles he deals with, both spiritually and intellectually, become focal points for the authors to share their own insights as professors in one of the foremost evangelical seminaries of our time (and at least Carson was once a pastor also). The story is told in the form of letters from a seminary professor who had been a friend of the main character's father, and the relationship continues and deepens over the years.

![]() | Holman Bible Atlas: A Complete Guide to the Expansive Geography of Biblical History (Broadman & HolmAuthor: Thomas C. BriscoBinding: Hardcover List price: $29.97 USD Amazon price: $19.78 USD |
Reviewer: J.M. Hebert (Western USA)
I suppose I should preface this review by saying that I am not a former student of Dr. Brisco as the other reviewers were. Therefore, I can assure you that I don't have a prejudicial view of the work. But I can agree with the previous reviewers by guaranteeing that this Bible Atlas is, by far, the best in its class, offering extensive coverage of both the social and physical geography of Palestine and the Near East for a very afforable price. The grahpical quality of the maps and visual aids are simply stunning and unsurpassed by anything else out there. The only Atlas that comes close to this work is Zondervan's NIV Atlas Of The Bible by Rasmussen.
