![]() | Instruments in the Redeemer's Hands: People in Need of Change Helping People in Need of Change (ResoAuthor: Paul David TrippBinding: Paperback List price: $16.99 USD Amazon price: $11.55 USD |
Book Description
In many ways, the church today has more consumers than committed participants. We see church merely as an event we attend or an organization we belong to, rather than as a calling that shapes our entire life.
Many of us would be relieved if God had place dour sanctification in the hands of trained professionals, but that simply is not the biblical model. God%u2019s plan is that through the faithful ministry of every part, the whole body will grow to maturity in Christ.
Tripp explains how his work follows an "all of my people, all of the time" model. If you followed the Lord for a thousand years, you would still need the ministry of the body of Christ as much as you did the day you first believed. This need will remain until our sanctification is complete in Glory.

![]() | When Life Is Changed ForeverAuthor: Rick TaylorBinding: Paperback List price: $10.99 USD Amazon price: $8.79 USD |
Reviewer: A reader
I really appreciate Rick's transparency and the way he deals with this difficult topic. In walking us through how he and Judy have processed their grief, he provides a roadmap for wrestling through the many issues at hand in a God-honoring way (Eph. 4:26). I have also found the tapes of the interviews Rick and Judy did with Dennis Rainey on FamilyLife Today to be extremely helpful. I highly recommend this book for anyone struggling and asking "Why?" following the death of a loved one.

Book Description
Leonard Ravenhill's call to revival is as timely now as it was when first published over forty years ago. The message is fearless and often radical as he expounds on the disparity between the New Testament church and the church today. Why Revival Tarries contains the heart of his message. A.W. Tozer called Ravenhill "a man sent from God" who "appeared at [a] critical moment in history," just as the Old Testament prophets did. Included are questions for group and individual study. Ravi Zacharias refers to this as "the book that shaped me...more dramatically than any other..."

Reviewer: Mark Marshall (Corpus Christi, Texas)
This work is a classic, though a little known one. I'm so glad this has been updated and reprinted. It is simply the best and most balanced book on the Holy Spirit I've ever read. Packer's critique of the Charismatic movement is especially balanced and perceptive. And his writing on the role of the Spirit is deep, on target, yet easy to understand. I will pound the table and recommend this book for any serious Christian.

This book is biblically founded and helped me to see the importance(largely from the bible) of having small groups. Accountability, biblical fellowship, speaking into each other's lives is the heart of the church. While small groups cannot take the place of the local church, they are a great context in which to apply the truths we learn in church. I especially liked the part about qualifications of a leader and being motivated by God' grace. Overall, the best book ever written (theologically and practically) on the subject!
![]() | Feminine AppealAuthor: Carolyn MahaneyBinding: Paperback List price: $13.99 USD Amazon price: $11.19 USD |
Reviewer: Donna (South Dakota)
This is one of the best books I have ever read in the realm of being a Godly wife and mother. It is like having a godly mother who has raised children from infanthood to adulthood and had a happy marriage sit down and share what are the most important ways you can be a blessing to your family and husband. It really emphasizes the importance of family relations over worldly success and materialism. I would highly recommend it to anyone struggling in these roles or a new wife and mother.
![]() | Hard Sayings of the BibleAuthor: Peter H. Davids,Frederick Fyvie Bruce,Manfred T. BrauchBinding: Hardcover List price: $35.00 USD Amazon price: $23.10 USD |
Reviewer: Rob Nowogorski (Canada)
I find three books that tackle Bible difficulties stand out above all others. Gleason Archer's "Encyclopedia of Bible Difficulties", Norman Geisler's and Ron Brooks' "When Skeptics Ask...", and this one. Out of those three this is probably my favorite. This one seems to go into deeper historical setting information. And as one who questions constantly, I am finding better answers here. That is not to say that the three books disagree, for they do agree with each other. This one seems to always anticipate the extra question someone would ask. And now to alienate at least 50% of you...

Book Description
This important book explores a wide range of ethical and cultural issues. Charles Colson and Nancy Pearcey show how the truth of Christianity can change the world. Internationally known author Charles Colson believes this to be the most significant book of his career. It carries a profound message needed by the church today and by individual Christians. The central theme is that faith in Jesus Christ is more than a private relationship with God; it’s a way of seeing, understanding, and changing the world. Christian faith brings with it basic ideas and beliefs that are the answers and counters to the world's philosophies.
![]() | Here I Stand: A Life of Martin LutherAuthor: Roland H. BaintonBinding: Paperback List price: $15.00 USD Amazon price: $10.20 USD |
Reviewer: T. B. Vick "Learn 2 Discern" (The Lone Star State)
This biography is the most accurate and unprejudiced ever written on Luther (and I have read dozens of them). Bainton provides very lucid and vivid historical settings, events, people, and such surrounding the life of Luther. What is more, Bainton is quite fair-minded with regard to Luther's personal traits; I get tired of reading other biographers who try to psychoanalyze Luther and draw conclusions about his thinking based on pure speculations. Bainton renders a fair assessment of perhaps why, based on historical settings and events which were occurring during Luther's day, as to why he perhaps did and said some of the things he did.
